Carnations are used to symbolize many occasions, including; the month of January, Mother’s Day, Teacher’s Day, and is the state flower of Ohio.  This post will tell you how to make felt carnations as well as the meanings of different colors.

Carnation Colors and What They Mean

The White Carnation:

It means good luck or pure love.

Example of when to give one:

♥For a graduation.

♥For a going-away gift when someone is moving.

The Pink Carnation:

It means unforgettable love, particularly for and from a mother.

Example of when to give one:

♥For your mother on Mother’s Day.

♥For your daughter on her birthday.

The Purple Carnation:

It means capriciousness. (which means unpredictable or witty)

♥For a friend or family member for a birthday.

The Light-Red Carnation:

It means admiration.

It means deep love and affection.
