If you’ve never worked with a zipper before, this will be a great project to learn on. The wide-open design is achieved by sewing the zipper along the top edge, which allows the pouch to open fully, providing easy access to all your makeup items. Start by cutting your fabric into two rectangles for the exterior and two for the lining. Attach the zipper to the top edges of the exterior pieces and then sew the lining to the opposite side of the zipper tape. This technique ensures a clean finish inside and out. After installing the zipper, sew the sides and bottom of the exterior fabric together, and repeat the process for the lining, leaving a small opening.
