It’s Always Autumn created this lovely smocked dress from a lightweight chambray. Chambray is such a pretty fabric for spring, and the look is timeless. She has a tutorial showing how she made it, using a t-shirt pattern as a guide. Because the smocked area is super stretchy, it’s very forgiving and you don’t need to get the fit perfect. So you can just use an existing t-shirt to get the right shape for the dress and sleeve pieces. This classic dress pattern is super simple and is made out of complete fabric sheets or fat quarters.
